"With God On Our Side" Website Release & Panel (July 4 & 16, 2024)

When I reached out to Esteban Whiteside to collaborate on With God On Our Side, I knew we were about to create something different—something that spoke to the soul. This wasn’t just about a song or a website; it was about making a statement. The panel we hosted felt like an open conversation with family, where we could all share our thoughts, our art, and our visions for the future. It was more than just a project; it was a movement.

We’re all human first—every life is sacred.
— Nico

A Song for Our Times
I came across Bob Dylan’s With God On Our Side by accident, and it felt like a lightning bolt. Even though it was written in 1964, the words hit home in a way that made me feel like they were written for today’s world. The more I listened, the more I felt compelled to make it my own—an anthem for the times we’re living in, where injustice and oppression are still rampant. Covering that song wasn’t just a creative decision; it was a call to action.

More Than Just Music
This project was about so much more than just a cover song. It was dedicated to the children of Palestine, Sudan, Congo, Haiti, Ukraine—every place where people are suffering because of who they are, where they live, or what they believe. The message was clear: we are all human first, and every life is sacred. Releasing the project on July 4th was intentional; it was a way to highlight the stark contrast between the ideals of freedom and the reality of oppression that so many still face. It wasn’t just a release; it was a statement.
